Exhausted: John C. Holmes, the Real Story watch uncut

It’s difficult to remember what porn was like in the 70s. In this era when pornstars are on TV, date movie stars, and are on album covers, the secret world of men in raincoats attending sleazy theaters is hard to imagine. Now most people see porn on their TV or internet. Once upon a time, though, it was a big deal for a porn star to hit the mainstream, and John Holmes did just that. With a 14 inch endowment and not so good looks, Holmes made thousands of movies and slept with thousands of women. He became well-known for his Johnny Wadd series, where he was an international man of mystery, and hardcore sex. Eventually he got heavily into drugs, got involved in a brutal murder, and finally died of AIDS.

Gröss to the brink of madness, but in his obsession, he has amassed a uniquely comprehensive collection of films that depict life in its final, grueling moments. The Porno King watch uncut

This is a documentary on the 70’s French porn industry. There are generally two kinds of porn documentaries–those that actually take an insightful look behind the scenes, and those that are just an excuse to show a lot of nudity and XXX porn footage. This is actually somewhere in between. It’s generously seasoned with porn footage, but there are also a lot of (fully-clothed) interviews, and they even talk to the owners of porn theaters, some typical porn customers (including some pre-adolescent boys who are walking by the the theater–I wonder what their parents thought of that?), as well as a guy who makes promotional billboards for porn movies although he claims never to have seen one!

The Forbidden watch uncut

This documentary explores assorted “forbidden” topics from all over the world. Among the subjects depicted herein are a racy TV commercial for a female martial arts school, rowdy teenagers protesting a strict curfew on the Sunset Strip, an underground lesbian club in Geneva, a portable topless bar, and various strip acts from different parts of the globe.
